Bedford KM Full Restoration
This vehicle was previously owned from new by my father. He bought the vehicle in 1972 when I was 7 years old.
I grew up with this vehicle, which was then sold in 1980.
Having thought this vehicle had been scrapped years earlier, I was then over the moon to actually see it working in Litchfield in 2003 after searching for it for many years. After many fruitless negotiation attempts, I finally purchased it in 2005.
It was sympathetically restored to replicate the vehicle I remember from my youth. Unfortunately, the chassis was beyond repair for the MOT and could not be saved.
So, I decided to shorten the length and lose the unrepairable parts, in which case it could be converted into a tractor unit and used to tow a trailer.
It was then totally stripped and restored to my own specification with period sign writing.
It was a shame to see it go after extensive rallying but at that time, I only had enough space for one large project at a time.
